Fourth of July

Fredericksburg sure knows how to put on a patriotic celebration. Maybe it’s because the city played such a crucial role in the founding of the country, but this city really comes to life when it’s time to have a patriotic celebration. As you can probably guess, the Fourth of July is the biggest of those celebrations, and Fredericksburg doesn’t disappoint. The Fredericksburg Heritage Festival takes place on July 4 in downtown Fredericksburg, and it’s going to be tons of fun. Check out the best activities happening at this year’s festival.

The Heritage Festival Five-Mile Run

Kick off the event the best possible way by taking part in the Heritage Festival Five-Mile Run at 7:45 a.m. This Lions Club-hosted event isn’t just a run, although that would be fun in itself. No, it’s so much more. It’s also a costume contest. Deck out in your Fourth of July best and come out and compete. If you win the best costume, you’ll take home a prize.

Festival of the Streets

Remember how Fredericksburg really knows how to party? You’ll see it for yourself at the Festival of the Streets. This festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and it has everything you want out of a festival. How do live music, a classic car display, and children’s activities sound? There’ll even be a petting zoo and a craft show. This is where the party will be, so be sure to head over to the festival.

Fourth of July at Ferry Farm

The party will also be at Ferry Farm. You can catch a trolley or bus over to the Eagles Lodge on Cool Springs Road. Then, you can enjoy historic tours, family activities, and more. There will even bere-enactors. The Fourth of July will be brought to life at Ferry Farm. If you want to get back to the city’s roots, be sure to visit the farm.

The evening ends with the July 4th Spectacular. This party starts at 4:30 p.m. at John Lee Pratt Memorial Park. Bring your lawn chair over and get ready for some fun. There will be all kinds of games and activities, and then, the fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m. This is sure to be a blast.

You know what else is a blast? Visiting Safford CDJR of Fredericksburg in Fredericksburg, Virginia, and picking up a new set of wheels. Come to see us before the festivities. We’ll help you find just what you need in a new vehicle.
