About the Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market

In addition to Art in the Park, the Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market holds other community-centric events such as Kids’ Market, Farmer’s Market Week, Community Day, Harvest Festival, and Mistletoe Market.

While the Fredericksburg Farmer’s Market has multiple locations, the Hurkamp Park location is the original market and serves as the primary epicenter of events in the city. The market typically serves as host to 28 vendors that offer a wide variety of vegetables, meats, fruits, eggs, bread, local wines, and plants.

Vendors are present year round, but the market is managed from the first Saturday in April through the last Saturday in October.

How to Pick the Perfect Piece of Art

Okay – so there’s really no “perfect” way to pick out a piece of artwork for your home or office. There are, however, two big factors to be aware of that can help you pick out something that jives with your respective environment:

  • Color Consideration: You might be one of those that want to pick out a piece in a color that traditionally matches the décor of your space. Others, however, may look to a piece to offer a contrast to the established color scheme of a room. Bottom line: find a work of art that speaks to you and don’t get too caught up in the color craze.
  • Size Matters: Do you want a piece to dominate the room? Looking for something to merely complement the space? Be sure to consider these factors when shopping for any kind of art.
